Food Storage

This is some of the food that I just re-placed in my 72 hour kit. I have all the other things (toliet paper, matches, blankets, soap, etc) already in my rolling bags.

(this is just some of it, I have other places in my house with food, water, and other supplies in it)
As I was looking through some of my pictures and I fell upon my food storage ones... I sat and looked at them and decided I wanted to write about it. Food storage is such an important part of my families life! My mom has raised us and taught us the importance of having a 1 year supply and using it. Of cousre you have to rotate it and re-buy but it always seems to work. I will be forever GREATFUL to my mom for teaching us the ture meaning behind it and how to use it in good times and in bad. I have been so lucky to see so many amazing things that come from having a food storage and for being prepared. The Blessings truly pour out! It's Wonderful. I can see even now with the Economy the way it is and with the prices of food rising my storage has dropped a ton. I am thankful that I have it so that we can still eat healthy and well but not pay the higher prices. Thanks mom you are so wonderful!
President Gordon B. Hinckley once said:
"Store a reserve of food and supplies... As long as I can remember, we have been taught to prepare for the future and obtain a year supply of necessities. I would guess that the years of plenty have almost universally caused us to set aside this counsel. I believe the time to disregard this counsel is over. With the events in the world today, it must be considered with all seriousness."
I truly know that if we put all that we have into being prepared and really seeking our Heavenly Father's help he will be there. "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." I have a strong testimony of this and it grows stronger all the time.

WOW! I knew you had food storage but that is great. And so organized. Someday, when my basement is finally done, I will have you and your mom help me organize something :)

You rock! I love to bargain shop as well and love coupons. Today I saved $18 in coupons at the store. I was so excited. I am making sure that when we get a house that we have a room for our food storage. In the meantime it will be stored at my moms. You are a great example!!!!!
